Lucy taught her first classes, when she was in her late teens, for college students whilst dancing as a hobby at the Pineapple Studios in Covent Garden. However, she rejected a career in fitness, in favour of an artistic career and went on to become an animator and graphic designer for TV. It was only later in life that she finally came back to dance and fitness, qualified as a teacher and then as a Personal Trainer. She now runs her own successful business the Body Fitness Company.

Lucy is passionate about dance and fitness and believes strongly that it should be accessible to everyone.

  • Lucy's tips

    * Don’t spend hours in the gym working half-heartedly; work for shorter periods but at a higher intensity.
    * Every morning do 25 press-ups, 50 curls, 50 reverse curls and 60 oblique twists, whatever else happens that day, you will know you have done your abs!!!
    * Avoid all white flour foods.

Join Lucy in part 1 of a gentle introduction to fitness video that spans 6 session.

This course aims to teach you all the basic steps found in our general workout video classes.

It will also enable a new member to build up a degree of fitness prior to doing standard length classes. This gentle immersion course is fun and Lucy's simple, friendly instruction will keep you motivated and wanting to come back for more.

The recommendation for this 20 minute exercise session is to try and complete it 5 times during week one before moving on to week two. This enables the body to begin processes which will ensure development towards being fitter will occur.

So if you are a beginner to fitness, or exercise in general you are in the right place.

    I am a student in exam time and have been trying (not) very hard to get myself to go running in the mornings to get myself out the house and ready to work, but it's just not happened, I hate running (because I'm terrible at it! No stamina!). I've done this video once now and do I feel so much more positive! I can feel it working without being strenuous enough to be offputting and it makes such a difference to sitting at a desk all day every day! Bring on the next week!

    Hi Poppy, once you have had you post natal six week all clear from your Dr then you can start gently exercising. It may be best to do one of our post natal classes for a few weeks, Anna does a great course, and then, when stronger join us on The Introduction To Fitness Course. Good Luck!!! LC FD

    Hi Steve, thank you for your comment and I am so pleased you are finding these sessions useful. You dont say what your age and weight is, but in general terms you want to feel you are working hard for a period of around 20-25mins and then as you get fitter and your stamina improves you will want longer sessions. It is great you kiddie is encouraging you and I would suggest that you stick with three a week but after say 3-4 weeks move on to different classes. Based on reading your comment I am going to commission a mens beg conditioning class which should be with you in a month or so as we are having a mens awareness month and I feel it vital that men are catered for in terms which they can relate to easily. The High BMI stuff is worth a read (in the lifestlye section articles 1-8) and if you would like to purchase the food box to help teach you about portion control and baseline, simple nutrition then please feel free to follow the link to my own site where you can purchse a box.Hope this helps.     Hi Susy, Good to hear from you and glad you are enjoying Intro Fit. If you feel you understand the moves and are not out of breathe at all I think you should go on to the next session. This works you slightly harder. You want to feel you are learning the moves and achieving a comfortable workload. Do Into Fit 2 a couple of times and again, if you feel you are able to, move on to the next one. Most people find that by Intro fit 3 or 4 they are achieving a level of work which challenges them but doesnt leave them wiped out for the day, inother words, eager to come back the next day. Before you know it your fitness levels will be up and you will be able to choose from so many classes. Please Suzy, tell your friends about our site as we want to help as many people as possible.     Hi Lucy,thank you very much, I enjoyed your first introduction a lot.I'm very happy I found a way to make exercise without going out of the house.Now I would like to ask: I'm not completely new to fitness, the only problem I used to work on that and have long pause and then again.I felt good with your first introduction but it was not hard at all to me.Do I need to jump to the second part or anyway is better for me to do the first five days and than next week I'll start the second part?     Hello,I am so pleased to say that I have now just completed Intro Fit 1. I have noticed feeling more fit already as when I took doggy out for his morning walk today it felt easier.I felt more energetic and lighter. I cannot fault this program in the slightest. Lucy you are so motivating and fun to workout with and most importantly for me is your not patronizing. You are so aware and sensitive to those of us that have no aerobic workout experience and you definately make me feel that I can accomplish that. I got comfortable with the routine by the end of it and I am looking forward to the next level even though it will be tough but there is 5 days to learn and develop and get used to it.
