Bio:

Lucy taught her first classes, when she was in her late teens, for college students whilst dancing as a hobby at the Pineapple Studios in Covent Garden. However, she rejected a career in fitness, in favour of an artistic career and went on to become an animator and graphic designer for TV.  It was only later in life that she finally came back to dance and fitness, qualified as a teacher and then as a Personal Trainer. She now runs her own successful business the Body Fitness Company and has joined forces with ThinQ Fitness to become their Fitness Director and one of their fitness presenters.

Lucy is passionate about dance and fitness and believes strongly that it should be accessible to everyone.

Join Lucy in the blog to find out a bit about her eating habits as a busy working mum.

Lucy’s Tips:

  • Don’t spend hours in the gym working half-heartedly; work for shorter periods but at a higher intensity.
  • Every morning do 25 press-ups, 50 curls, 50 reverse curls and 60 oblique twists, whatever else happens that day, you will know you have done your abs!!!
  • Avoid all white flour foods.

Description

Lucy finishes our Introduction to Fitness videos with session 6 of the extremely popular Introduction to Fitness Course.

This online workout video introduces you to yet more equipment common to fitness exercise classes, and Lucy teaches a duel class for those with the equipment, and those without, to demonstrate how easy the transition is and the extra benefits this can create for the body.

This exercise video covers how balancing can be used effectively to work core muscles and also to create the strength required for workouts such as combat or ballet. You cover your usual press up and ab work. The last ten minutes of this session Lucy goes through all of the  stretches you will cover in our main classes. Upon completion of three of these sessions you are ready to go forward and use our site classes.

Remember, start with the fitness level of beginner, build up gradually and above all have safe fun!!!

Hi Lucy, I did it...and I can't believe it...after session 5 I thought I couldn't do more than that but...surprise...I bought the step and did all session 6 with it...unbelievable :). But I'm sure that a you have a big part in all this, you are a very good teacher and know when to push and when to release, without never loosing your humour. I'm going to try some new classes now here in thinQ, I still don't know which ones, but I'll keep in touch and let you know how things are going. Thanks again, Camelia.

Hi Susy, A big, huge, well done to you me darlin', excellent stuff. I suggest you try our beginner toning range and go for a mix of cardio and toning. try a few people out and see who you like and what style of teacher you like. There is latin conditioning which is fun, also LTB which is tough but fun and Jayne Nichols knows her stuff and is very safe. Go well and keep up the good work. Lucy Case Fitness Director

Hi Lucy, I'm so proud! I have finished session 6!!!!Now I would like to ask for your advice what to choose after that.I need something that in the same time works up my muscles but even more helps me in my diet (I have lost already 12 kg in the last 4 months, and I see that in order to loose more weight I need fisical exercise together with the diet). So what do you suggest? Thank you very much, i like your lessons, I fell so good after each session! Thanks again Susy

Hi David, Great to hear from you and great to hear you have completed Intro 6 and are ready for your next challenge. There are masses of classes for you to work from now in this range and you want to mix it up between presenters as well and see what they offer....(of course none will combine wit and charm as I do :) but you know!!!!), also mix between cardio and weights for best results. If wanting to reduce body fat eat three meals a day and a snack mid afternoon and try and eat a little protein at every meal and no biscuits, cakes, crisps etc always choose fruit and veg at every meal and watch out for mayonnaise and salad cream as these add calories. Hope this helps.......take care and thank you so much for your lovely email. Speak soon, Lucy Case, Fitness Director.

HI Lucy, I have just completed the Intro Fit series at the weekend and I am about to start on a weight loss program, so I am considering your one hour high fat burn exercise class but I also intend to suplement this by continuing with Intro Fit 5 & 6 in between times. I certainly feel so much more ready to tackle higher levels of work and do not feel intimidated by tacking this even at my age! I am beginnning to really enjoy my exercise and miss it if circumstances prevent me from having enough time to complete it, so I guess that I have the bug!! I did consider joining an exercise class but given that I travel a lot, it is far more convenient for me to continue with a web based class and feel comfortable with ThinQ Fitness to provide this. Thank you for your help, encouragement and funny asides, all of which helped me to get through this initial series without too much pain!! I look forward to joining you in something perhaps a bit more strenuous soon! Thanks a lot. David Mitchell.

Hi Lucy, hey, hey, hey,I've done it!! I have made it through the entire Intro Fit series!! Just done the last one of session 6 a few minutes ago and had to share my joy!! I have already scoped out which workouts on the site will be ideal to move on to and there are quite a few so I am happy about that. I can't believe I have done it. I am a little sad though as I have enjoyed your company so much during the workouts but hopefully I can find a suitable class which you are taking just to see a familiar face. I'm just so chuffed! Thank you so much for the teach and I shall carry on now until I get 'The Exercise Bug' you talked about in the first session-that would be great! and thats what I'm going after. I cant express it enough how grateful I am. Thank you for being so motivating and supportive and sensitive to us newbies, your a good instructer. Have a super fab day! Caroline
