Teenage High BMI Class

Posted in High BMI by Dee Thresher

Hello Guys, I am so pleased to be with you at ThinQ Fitness.

I wanted to come aboard and bring you some classes for teenagers and you will notice the duration of the classes is slightly shorter to accomodate limiting the workout load. I was excited to do a teenage High BMI workout, this is the first one of its kind. Lucy (Fitness Director) and I spent a long time going through what types of workouts you guys would like and enjoy.

Please let me know therefore if we got it nearly right, it is all about enjoying oneself, learning a skill and having a shift in heart rate. Also, check out the Introduction to High BMI coming along soon as this is a really great way to start tackling High BMI in a very simple way.

Talk soon Dee x

WOW KELSIE, what a fantastic message! Does anyone else out there have any comments on this subject? Is that how you teens (yep Kelsie, we'll allow your 21 as a “virtual teen!”!) feel about gyms & health clubs? Just remember though, lots of older people have their own concerns when exercising in front of younger people. The great thing about Thinq is you can exercise whenever & wherever you like! I'd love tear about other workouts you'd recommend for people who can relate to your message. And those of you out there who would echo Kelsie's comments, how about sharing your fave workouts or giving us an idea of what else you like to see on Thinq? Keep up the great work!

Im 21...thats still a teen no??...=)...and i am high BMI (even tho i can still keep up with some other types of workouts) and ive been using the site on and off since uhhmm....19? Im loving dee's classes, the michael jacksons thriller workout still gets me up Im sure as long as you keep the effective basics which get you sweaty, simple routines, and the newest music, and we tell everyone we know, including teens about this site, you will get teen viewers. Everyone i tell about this site loves the fact we can still get a gym, in the home, with a quarter of the money a gym membership costs, and theres no one to stare at you, and in this day and age, when a teen goes to the gym, they are paranoid everyone thinks they are fat/ugly/overweight, its harsh, but that is EXACTLY what they are telling themselves! and its because they are surrounded by thin models I love it is all about being healthy and fit on this website, i NEVER want to be stick thin, curves have always been sexy and always will be! keep telling yourself that and you will go far! Another point is, with this site it is affordable, so you dont feel obligated to come on every day, its friendly and welcoming, so you WANT to come on regularly, no one needs to know about it so they cant keep pushing you to come on when you dont feel like it...its a relaxing, FUN place to come. As long as it remains a place we dont have the pressures of people yabbering on about our weight and WE CAN DO SOMETHING FOR OURSELVES...and people know about it...you can be safe in the knowledge teenagers will come, will enjoy it and will feel great about it View from a 'Teen'...sorry if i went on abit!

Are any teenagers actually doing this stuff and if so why dont they write in. I notice a lot of mums etc are doing these sessions, but how can we get teans to talk and tell us what they want? JH

oh the good old days!!! My mum didn`t let us have a tv until I was 12 years old. I resented it at the time but looking back I used to draw and teach myself gymnastics in the spare bedroom, I even built myself a beam. No H & S checks in those days. The best fun of course was slithering down the stairs on a matress.....anyone do that......with all ones sibblings hanging on for dear life!!! Lucy Case F.D

Teenagers need all the help they can get. In my day we were much more sociable, out and about every where and there wasnt much junk food or things to do sitting down, so we didnt sit down much at all. I pity teens these days and anything like this has got to be good news. L.P.

This is an absolutly fantastic idea, I am no teenager (I wish i was) but it is all very well the government waffling on about obesity but in truth apart from a few leaflets noone is actually doing anything about it, until now, well done. Josh

Hi Clare, thank you for writing in. This is an important transition time, as a nation we are becoming more aware that actually the very fit are the minority and are being catered to and it is the masses which are the majority and not being catered for. If I can help through ThinQ Fitness in some small way to redress this balance then that is great. They are doing such a good job with this site dont you think? Dee

Good idea, really good, glad to see things being offered which are actually trying to do something for others, not just about how great the instructor is. Nice work Dee, I remember you from the GMTV Bikini diet, glad to see you involved with this type of more meaningful work too. Clare
