We have been asked many a time to recommend methods of connecting to the TV to watch ThinQ Fitness on the big screen. In fact we did a video on it, which you can find here

Connect Your PC to the TV

However, we know many of you have your computers in different parts of the house to the TV, and its not always easy to work out in front of the computer if its in a small area of the home. We also know it's not very straight forward unless you have a new computer and a new TV.

So we had been keeping an eye out for a cost effective way of quickly using your broadband internet connection to bring ThinQ Fitness to the TV and we think we have found the very device.

It is called the Acer Aspire Revo 3610 and can be purchased by clicking the picture below

Now it retails at £ 279.99, but it is a fully functional PC that will play all of the ThinQ Fitness videos, alongside BBC iPlayer, Sky Player, 4oD, YouTube and others. Note that it does not come with a screen, it wants to be connected to your TV, but does come with a keyboard and mouse (make sure you read the keyboard setup instructions carefully before turning the device on for the first time)

It does require that your TV has either an HDMI or VGA connector, so it will need to be a new TV, the cables you will need are shown below, and you will need a connection to your broadband router, either WiFi or wired. You will need a little PC knowledge to get it working,

There are other devices that do the same, but they are more costly, and we do like this one.

VGA Cable

Easy if you are used to the concept of connecting your PC for presentations. Your PC will have it as an option but make sure your TV has this type of connector. This cable requires a seperate audio cable see below.

HDMI Cable

The best quality connection. However only found on newer PCs and laptops. You can also find that you have a DVI connection, don't worry about the acronym, but look for a DVI to HDMI cable instead. Again this cable requires a seperate audio cable see below.

Audio Cables

These are one of two types as shown below, you will need to check the connectors on your TV, and make sure you use the audio connections that correspond to the connector you used for the cables above.

Zara, if you would like a PC permanently connected to your TV, then yes you do need the device and the cables. However if you already have a PC close to the TV or a laptop, then all you need are the cables.

This seems expensive and complicated. Do you need all the cables plus the thing for £300?
